Why PDF is the right format for a calendar
A calendar is a physical object more than a digital one: its whole purpose is to end up on paper. PDF is the only common format that carries the page size inside the file, so a printer knows a Letter calendar is meant to be 8.5 by 11 inches and prints it at exactly that size.
An image file has no page size, so the printer guesses — usually by stretching it to fill the sheet, leaving uneven margins. A word processor document reflows when the fonts it expects are missing, which quietly shifts a whole grid. Neither problem exists here.
Every writing system, no font trouble
The calendar page is placed into the PDF as a high-resolution image rather than as text with embedded fonts. That has one real cost — the text cannot be selected or searched — and one substantial benefit: every script prints correctly. Latin with accents, Cyrillic for Serbian, Russian and Ukrainian, and anything else the browser can draw, all come out exactly as they appear on screen, without a font file being embedded or a glyph going missing.
Printing it without surprises
- Set the print scale to 100% or Actual size, never "fit to page".
- Choose the same paper in the print dialog as you chose in the generator.
- Keep the orientation on portrait.
- For black-and-white printing, switch the colour setting before downloading — holidays are then ringed rather than coloured.
Nothing leaves your device
The PDF is assembled by your browser. There is no upload, no server-side rendering and no account, so the title you type and the dates you pick stay with you. It also means the download starts the moment the page is drawn, with nothing to wait for.

Why a PDF rather than an image or a document?
A PDF carries the page size inside the file, so a printer knows a Letter calendar is 8.5 by 11 inches and prints it at exactly that. An image has no page size, and a word processor document reflows depending on the fonts installed. A PDF looks the same everywhere and prints the same everywhere.
How large is the file?
Around 260 KB for a single month and about 750 KB for a full year with grid lines and moon phases. Small enough to email or to keep on a phone.
Can I select or search the text in the PDF?
No. The page is placed in the PDF as a high-resolution image, which is the trade that lets every writing system print correctly without embedded fonts — Latin, Cyrillic and more. If you need selectable text, this is not the right tool.
What resolution does it print at?
About 288 dots per inch at the page size, close to the 300 DPI convention for print. Lines and small type stay crisp on a home printer.
Is anything uploaded when I make the PDF?
No. The file is built by your browser on your own device. The title you type and the settings you choose are never sent anywhere.
