Brazil public holidays 2025

The calendar above is already set to Brazil holidays for 2025, ready to download as a PDF. Below is the full list, the weekday each holiday falls on, and the long weekends they create.
How holidays work in Brazil
- Brazil layers national, state and municipal holidays; the local ones (São Paulo’s anniversary, Rio’s São Jorge) are marked regional below.
- Carnival is not a national statutory holiday — it is a ponto facultativo, an optional day declared each year, though much of the country treats it as sacred anyway.
- There is no substitution for weekend holidays, but decrees regularly bridge Thursday and Tuesday holidays for the public sector.

These are the dates as officially observed. Where a country moves a day off because the holiday itself falls at a weekend, the moved date is the one shown, which is why a date here can differ from the traditional one. 1 of these apply to some regions rather than the whole country; the generator can narrow the calendar to one region so only the days off that actually apply are printed.
Long weekends in 2025
Stretches of three or more days off in a row, counting weekends and nationwide public holidays together. Holidays that apply only to some regions are left out, since they would not give most people the day off.
| Dates | Days | Because of |
|---|---|---|
| March 1 – March 4 | 4 | Carnival, Carnival |
| April 18 – April 21 | 4 | Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Tiradentes |
