Working days in Greece, 2026
Greece has 251 working days in 2026: the year's 261 weekdays, minus the 10 nationwide public holidays that land on one. The month-by-month table below is computed from the same holiday data the calendar maker prints.
Month by month
| Month | Weekdays | Holidays on weekdays | Working days |
|---|---|---|---|
| January | 22 | 2 | 20 |
| February | 20 | 1 | 19 |
| March | 22 | 1 | 21 |
| April | 22 | 2 | 20 |
| May | 21 | 1 | 20 |
| June | 22 | 1 | 21 |
| July | 23 | 0 | 23 |
| August | 21 | 0 | 21 |
| September | 22 | 0 | 22 |
| October | 22 | 1 | 21 |
| November | 21 | 0 | 21 |
| December | 23 | 1 | 22 |
| Total | 261 | 10 | 251 |
- The fullest month is July with 23 working days; the lightest is February with 19.
- Counts use nationwide holidays only — regional ones (a state day in the US, a cantonal day in Switzerland) reduce the total further where they apply.
- Weekends are Saturday and Sunday. Half-day customs — a Christmas Eve afternoon, a Bayram eve — are not subtracted.
Which holidays are subtracted
The 10 nationwide holidays falling on weekdays come from the same dataset as the Greece public holidays 2026 page, which lists each one with the weekday it lands on — and how Greece's holiday system works:
- Greece follows the Orthodox calculation of Easter, which most years differs from the Western date — in 2027, Orthodox Good Friday falls on 30 April while the Western one is in March. Every Easter-linked holiday moves with it.
- Clean Monday, the start of Orthodox Lent, is a public holiday and a kite-flying day 48 days before Orthodox Easter.
- Ohi Day on 28 October — the anniversary of the 1940 “No” to the Italian ultimatum — is a full national holiday with parades.
