- Russia’s New Year holidays run as a statutory block from 1 January into the first week of the year, with Orthodox Christmas on 7 January inside it — the longest standing holiday cluster in Europe.
- Each year a government decree shuffles adjacent working days to extend holiday bridges, so the exact non-working pattern for future years is provisional until that decree appears.
- When a holiday falls at a weekend, the day off is carried to a working day under the same yearly decree.
